Close to three-fourth of the surface of the Earth is primarily covered by water, thus constituting 98 per cent of both the fresh and salty water bodies. This clearly gives an indication of how precious this resource remains for humanity inasmuch as human beings have resorted to the contamination of the water resources through sewerage and other toxic chemicals. In this regard, it is essential to consider that every creature on this planet require water to survive. This includes animals, trees, and plants that require lots of water for survival. The formation of this precious commodity occurs in three forms as either liquid, solid, or gas. The scarceness of water is considered as a situation through which people fail to have access to this resource and basic need as a result of wasteful usages. Countries such as India are among the nations that are currently facing the scarcity of this resource. In some parts of this nation, women are forced to walk long distances just to get a pint of this precious resource.

In other cities, families are forced to budget and spend close to a dollar to meet their consumption and daily usage of this product. This problem advances during summer when the availability of this resource decreases. During summer, close to 30 per cent of urban families are limited in some way in accessing water. On the other hand, there are several instances where water has been hoarded and privatized, an aspect that leads to the scarcity of this resource. Ion consideration of the essence of water for the survival of animals, trees, and plants, it remains challenging to imagine the manner in which life would have been without water. The irony of this aspect remains in the fact that inasmuch as human beings understand the essence and significance of this commodity, they have resorted to other ways of contaminating this resource. The far reaching consequences of these actions are perceived as dangerous and not fair for tomorrow since water is known to many as the elixir of living.

Given this, water conservation methods remain a necessary element in saving lives. In this regard, it is vital to understand that there are different approaches of dealing with the scarcity of this resource. First and foremost, there is a need to institute approaches aimed at harvesting rainwater for home and industrial use. On the other hand, different governments need to enforce approaches aimed at enhancing forestation and other vegetation covers that have the capacity of reducing surface runoffs in order to recharge the groundwater. The world needs to practice afforestation and ensure that the water bodies are secured and conserved, approaches directed towards conserving water. In this regard, the world needs to come together through the media in conducting campaigns and public awareness initiatives aimed at encouraging the conservation of water.

By putting measures and practicing these approaches, the world can ensure and increase the availability of water to secure other future generations. In this regard, we do not need to tarry but start today by saving every drop of water that comes into the surface of earth. The world therefore needs to establishing philosophies and mottos that inspire future generations to conserving the environment. Our motto should be save water save life.
