Why I want to be a pharmacist
I have always wanted to pursue a career in pharmacy because of I know that pharmacists play an important role in people’s lives. The decision to become a pharmacist was primarily influenced by my personal curiosity. I have considered other career before like singing, however upon reflection; I have realized that my passion for chemistry has been with me since childhood. Since my childhood, I have been curious about the composition of products; I used to mix products, crash leaves to come up with products that would solve certain problems. Apart from having a passion in Chemistry, I also have a desire to help people by improving their life.
People think that pharmacist only handles prescription however; they do more than just than just give medicine. Pharmacists educate patients about the importance of taking medication. These include the dosage, the side effects and the importance of following the doctor’s orders. Pharmacist care about patients and their health. Since I love working directly with people I need a career that will enable me to interact with people on a daily basis. I naturally care about people well being I would like to make people feel comfortable by talking to them about their health and medical. That is why I want to be a pharmacist. I wanted to have a career within the health care sector
I have analyzed all the health care careers, including nursing and decided that pharmacy was the best because I had a passion for chemistry. I love chemistry because it applied to everything in our lives. I find chemistry interesting because I can understand how our body works and react. I have always been eager to learn more about the chemical composition of molecules to understand some of the diseases.
The idea of becoming a pharmacist started back in high school when I found myself among boys conducting experiments and trying to explain certain chemical reactions. .my fascination with chemicals and understanding their function led me to this career. I have always admired researchers who discover new medicines after several years of research; I want to form that team and become one of the renowned medicine inventors.
Being a pharmacist is a rewarding career with several opportunities in different fields. Having a career as pharmacists means working in a myriad professional setting. I can be involved in scientific research, patient care or work in the innovation sector. The majority of pharmacists works independently and can run their drug stores .Being pharmacists you are guaranteed employment you can work in pharmaceutical industries, in colleges and schools. You can work for the federal government and hospitals. Pharmacist play key roles in almost all aspects of health care system. Being a pharmacist means having more possibilities of advancing your career, and you will be assured of getting a job anytime.
Being a pharmacist means having the ability to recognize signs and symptoms of diseases that might cause discomfort to patients. As a pharmacist you need to be equipped with the necessary skill to improve people’s health hence they form part of the team that addresses public health problems. Pharmacists help patients in several ways apart from giving medication; they are culturally competent health workers that can communicate effectively and can evaluate several factors to help patients adhere to medication and make certain adjustments to improve their health. Being a pharmacist means being a problem solver, a confidant, and a counselor. There are ongoing demands for pharmacy services all over the world that make pharmacist career attractive.
