Since time immemorial, there have been many inventions and innovations in the world. People have been motivated with what goes on naturally and have hence come up with ideas that will help solve some of the issues that occur in our midst. Inventions and innovations have been important to the human race over the past years. One person who has been instrumental in changing his surrounding and aspiring to beat the odds is Elon Musk. Musk’s popularity has grown rapidly and even though the technology world is filled with brilliant minds, he has managed to cement his position.
Musk was born on June 28, 1971, in Pretoria, South Africa to Maye Musk (Canadian model) and Errol Musk (South African engineer). He came to develop an interest in computing at a very young age whereby he taught himself computer programming. Initially, Musk attended school in South Africa and then later moved to Canada. In 1995, Musk moved to California to pursue a PhD in Applied Physics and Material Science but later left to chase his entrepreneurial dream.
Musk’s passion is something that I will always look up to. His ambition and vision drive him to invent and innovate technologically. Musk invented Zip2, a software company which developed and marketed an internet city guide for the newspaper industry. He later sold it to Compaq and used the income to start X.com, an online financial service company. His foresight made him merge with PayPal, a money transfer service company. Despite being ousted from the position of CEO, Musk did not give up on his dream to change the world and influence humanity.
Musk never slept or passed on an idea. His determination and perseverance kept him moving. His interest in space exploration made him invent Space X which is a space exploration technology company. His boldness also made this possible in that he never declined to brainstorm on any new ideas. Musk dares to dream big and his vision for man to reach Mars’ surface makes him concentrate his efforts on the idea. To him the sky is the limit and whatever he envisions, he sees to it that it comes to fruition. It is this feature or attribute that propels him towards greater success. Space X is indeed revolutionary and with Musk at the helm, the future looks bright.
Elon Musk is also resilient and reportedly intense. Once he sets his mind on an objective, he delves to work and ensures that it is achieved. With this mindset, Musk joined Tesla Motors where he later became the CEO as well as the product architect. While at Tesla, Musk has managed to bring about greater influence with his mind-blowing innovations. In 2008, Tesla built an electric car which attracted a lot of buyers from around the world. Since the launch of the first electric car, Tesla has continued to churn out other models with Musk’s leadership. His presence and lack of fear to beat the norm has attracted praise and even managed to bring in investors such as Daimler and Toyota. Currently, his name is among the most recognized in the technology world and through his achievements and drive, I am encouraged to keep working and striving to actualize my visions.
In conclusion, having Elon Musk as a mentor not only helps rival his traits in success achievement but also better myself and improve the society.
