Definition Of War (Essay Sample)

Definition of War

One of the first things that ring in my mind when the word war appears is in regard to the death of several innocent citizens amongst other brave patriots.  War in this regard is attributed as an act of invasion in another’s territory through the use of armed militia and other proponents of combat. On the other hand, war can be defined as the killing of the shedding of the opponent’s blood. In other terms, war can be considered as an armed confrontation between two parties that results in several significant deaths on a battlefield. According to my personal view and definition, was entails an act of heroism and bravery of patriots and citizens who have a deep desire and yearning to serve as statesmen and stateswomen. My sentiments are therefore echoed towards the families of soldiers who have given up their lives to serve their soil and place of origin including the innocent lives that are taken during such ordeals. Irrespective of how war is perceived, it is essential to consider that giving an individual’s life sacrificially for the innocent population is an act of heroism and courage.

War is considered as an act that prompts violence that is initiated with the sole objective of compelling the opponents to fulfill their part of a will.  Given this, it can be understood that violence or the use of physical force is perceived as a means of triggering war, an aspect that denotes the need for the compulsory compliance of an adversary towards an opponents will in order to ultimately end the war. To this end, the inclusion of violence needs to be pushed to the outermost boundaries since one of the parties in the war tend to dictate law to the adversaries, an aspect that results in a reciprocal action that fuels war. Compelling the enemy towards an opponent will takes cognizance of the fact that the enemy needs to be in a state that pushes them to make sacrifices that is required by the opponents. As long as an enemy or threat is not defeated, there are chances and possibilities that they may dictate terms for their adversaries. In this case, defeating an adversary in war requires the opponents to weight their proportionate efforts with that of their adversaries by increasing their means inasmuch as the adversaries equally make their efforts in arming themselves to the tooth.

War therefore remains a reality that we live with and affects the lives of people affected by its outcomes. People are therefore affected by the loss of their loved ones lives and property during the process of war. War in another popular view is considered as a conflict that arises between political rivalries and groups that involves hostile actions that lasts for a considerable duration. War is therefore treated as an institution that is well recognized in law and in custom. Human species therefore engage in wars with the primary motive of protecting their land, new resources, food, dictation, and imperialism: aspects that are considered as the sources of war.  Currently, wars have taken a different inclination since they are politically instigated and motivated. Wars have therefore taken a more dangerous form in the society compared to before since the earlier battles were fought in battlefields with the primary objective of solving disputes between the parties involved, an aspect that ensured that the general public was safe in the cities.  However, currently, invasion and aggregation have taken the toll in the society, thus resulting in rampant attacks of the public, thus destabilizing the economy of a nation in the name of winning war.
