Welcome speech on a farewell day
The following is an example of a welcome farewell speech delivered in a school by a student addressed to the people who have attended a school farewell event.
To our esteemed Principal, Director, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, a warm welcome to everybody here. Today is an important day in our school as we celebrate the last day with our senior friends who have been part of our lives in this school. Our outgoing senior class students have been our brothers and sisters who have known for the longest period in the school. It pains to say farewell to them after all the things we have gone through with them.We, however, understand that your time has come to an end in this school and therefore you must leave.
I take this opportunity to welcome you all into this grand farewell party, we have organized here tonight. Feel free to express your thoughts on our outgoing class of 2018 and let them know how well you wish them for their future. I urge you to maintain the orderliness and modesty as we celebrate the milestone our elder brothers and sisters have achieved by coming this far in their academic life.
We are grateful for being our big brothers and directing our steps as we navigated the challenges of school life. You loved us deeply, and on many occasions, you have gone out of your way to help us to cope with personal and academic related challenges. You have helped our institutions grow tremendously, and today we will inherit a much better place than you found. It has been an incredible journey for the period you have been with us in the school. We look back and wish we had more time to spend with you, for you are the best we could ever have.
Each one of us here has an interesting story of love and passion for telling about your class. We have been lucky to have you. Our teachers have emphasized that we ought to look up to you and emulate your character. You have left an indelible mark in our lives, school, and community. You led us by example and guided us with love and passion, and we hope and wish you carry the same character into your latter lives.
For the class of 2018, as you start a new chapter in your life and academic journey, we wish you all the best. We urge you to carry on the love and passion you have shown us and bless other people with it. We are just thankful to you, and we intend to follow in your footsteps. Congratulations to the class of 2018!
