South Africa is one of the most vibrant regions in the continental Africa where numerous cultural pots have been in the country to promote ethnic diversity in the area. However, the country is now at risk for suffering from a growing number of unemployed individuals. This is one of the most serious socio-economic dilemmas that are faced by the country in the modern history. The essay aims to discuss the three main reasons of unemployment in South Africa. In addition, it seeks to find out the solutions to prevent the progression of unemployment scenarios in the country.

One of the main reasons is the political instability because there are numerous groups who are now influencing lawmakers to start creating a chaos within the legislative division of the country. There are laws that influence taxation reforms, thereby affecting companies and individuals because it creates financial instability. As for the economic reasons as the second, Increasing basic commodity goods associated by fluctuating inflation is responsible for causing companies to lay off workers. This is one of the most critical issues that could lead to the rising cases of unemployment among South Africans. The third is violence, which causes intimidation and coercion against companies who should have been establishing an economic opportunity to the country. The threat of violence drives away investors that potentially generate more jobs for the locals, delaying opening of new stores or companies that are situated all across the country (Herbs & Mills, 2015).

Political reforms should be addressed immediately to prevent intensification of leftist groups who could cause a problematic propaganda against the government. Strict enforcement of the law and increasing fines can control any abusive and unacceptable practices that can intimidate repeat offenders that control unemployment in South Africa. Education is still one of the best solutions for a person to become productive such as having a good job after they have obtained a degree. Companies operating in South Africa should have an alternative way of earning more money so that they will not be faced with economic hazards and risks that could reduce their assets and expanding their liabilities. Investing in stock markets and Forex markets are essential for companies to boost their revenue that prevents them from firing their employees. In addition, police visibility should be applied because it will promote discipline and prevent future violent activities responsible for intimidating investors.

It has been learned that unemployment negatively impacts the socio-economic integrity of every household in South Africa. If a person is unemployed, they are forced to commit offenses that could transform themselves into criminal individuals. The three reasons for unemployment such as political turmoil, firing employees, and safety concerns are responsible for causing an intimidation and coercion to the public. In this case, unemployment can further increase incidence related to negative elements such as crimes, assault, battery, and theft across the nation if the government fails to address issues of unemployment. Mediation with the government is important because it can significantly prevent issues of partiality where the government favors one side, which could further generate a conflict of interest with other involved parties or groups.
