Introduction

Christians believe in the existence of a supernatural being called God. The Bible, the main book of reference for all Christians, recognizes the fact that God exists as a Trinity and manifests Himself in three deities: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit, all joined in one and acting together to influence creation and the order of the world. This paper expounds on the oneness of God. The Bible makes a range of references to the Trinity: God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Both the Old and the New Testament point to God as one being. In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 6 verse 4, the bible says, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.” In the New Testament, Galatians chapter 3 verse 20 points to God as a mediator not of one but that God is one. In this regard, God is categorically one. Also, the world was created through the combined action of three “persons” acting as one. The Bible says that upon the command of God, the Spirit moved upon the face of the waters and there was light and life. Moreover, Jesus is God. In Colossians, we are told of His dwelling in the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Jesus Christ came to the earth and was born to Mary, a virgin, as son of man. To this extent, God sought to connect with human beings physically. Jesus Christ, however, did not have any sin, signifying the fact that while God may exist and manifest Himself as man, He is also a Spirit who is infallible and who cannot commit sin. Such is the other form of God: the Holy Spirit. Jesus preached on earth and sought to connect with human beings so that they can repent. He even died on the cross but He rose again, to signify the existence of God as a Father, Son and Spirit, all acting as one. God has revealed Himself to man as the Father. He shows concern and love. Jesus Christ died for the sake of man, and He then ascended to Heaven. His spiritual actions also touched man, as exemplified when Jesus Christ brought back Lazarus from the dead. Jesus also had kind words for the many people he met and he helped man, guiding them on the right path to salvation. Also, wherever Jesus went, the Spirit moved with Him, as was evident when He woke up from sleep in a boat and saved His disciples from drowning in a boat. Such are the deeds of a parent, God the Father, revealed through Jesus Christ, His Son. In this regard, God the Father, God the son, and the Spirit move together, act as one and have the same objective towards the well-being of man. God manifests Himself in the various features, all of which converge into one. Jesus Christ, for instance, is the only reference and name given to human salvation. God the Father, for instance, was revealed to the world through Christ when He was born to Joseph and Mary. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit comes to believers by way of the name of Jesus. During salvation, a believer has to confess that Jesus is Lord and the Holy Spirit of God will guide such a believer in their salvation.

Conclusion

Human beings can clearly point out the human and divine aspects of Jesus Christ as a manifestation of God. However, it is impossible to distinguish or isolate the various identities of Christ and God. Such incarnation brings together the fullness of deity which completes the oneness of God. The three forms of God all act in unison and have similar objective thus, God is one.
